Chiang Rai Rajabhat University English Camp 29 April - 3 May 2024

We had the pleasure of welcoming 68 incredible students from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, who visited Traidhos Camp to enhance their English skills whilst exploring Chiang Mai, enhancing their teamwork skills and learning about sustainability.

Every morning, these hardworking students embarked on English language lessons, but then each day saw new and exciting activities with the Traidhos Camp Team in the afternoons and evenings!

The students honed their creativity skills in the “Flying Machine” activity. In small groups, the students’ task was to protect an egg from a three-story high drop. All teams succeeded, and some prudent students saved their eggs to cook at their friendship barbecue dinner later that day!

Next, it was time to test out some navigation skills in Chiang Mai Old City Adventure! Our students were tasked with making a social media video campaign to promote Chiang Mai’s beautiful Old Town, including some of its iconic sights.

The next days were focused on teamwork and sustainability. The teams enhanced their English skills by tackling the challenge of low ropes and high wall, and communicating to each other in English. They also paid a visit to the Traidhos Three-Generation Farm to learn about real-life sustainability applications used on Traidhos Campus. As well as learning about aquaponics and solar power, students used pedal-power to create their own smoothies using our custom built blender bicycle and created their own bio-charcoal from corn cobs.

We celebrated our last evening with a dinner around the campfire followed by karaoke. The students treated us to some iconic performances including some traditional Thai dancing.

The trip came to a close with the students talking about sustainability in hotels, ahead of their travel and tourism internships. Then we waved goodbye and wished good luck as the students headed back to Chiang Rai.

During their camp with us, CRRU students did a takeover of our Facebook page. If you are eager to get a first-hand look at what they did, check out our Facebook page: Traidhos Camps!
