Concordian International School (January 2013)

IB Group 4 project 10 – 13 January 2013

The Barge Program joined forces with Concordian School for four days of research in Ranong Province.

The multidisciplinary research teams included biologists, physicists, chemists, graphic designers and mathematicians, all with their individual hypotheses. Soil chemistry, biodiversity and water quality were collected by teams in four ecosystems – mangrove, estuary, rocky shore and sea grass, before being tested and compared at the Ranong Coastal Research Resource Centre.

Students then presented their findings to their peers as part of their IB assessment. Their hard work each day was rewarded with free time on the beach to play football, Frisbee, and to cool off in the warm Andaman Sea.
